Forming a Preparedness Culture in Tierrasanta
What can you do before the next wildfire, earthquake or other emergency?
Hear from Ed Langmaid, the founder of "Prepare Tierrasanta" about what you can do
to protect your family and property in case of fire or earthquake emergency.
YOU ARE YOUR OWN "FIRST RESPONDER"
Wildfires and earthquakes, home fires, medical emergencies will happen, we can't predict when they will strike, but there are steps you can take today to be prepared and help protect your family.
2 Easy Steps to Get Started Today
It is your responsibility to take action today - don't delay!
1. Register your cell phones for Emergency Alerts
2. Make an Evacuation Go-Kit and a Shelter-in-Place Stay Kit
Our Mission is to educate Tierrasanta community members on emergency preparedness, how to prepare, and what to do in an earthquake and wildfire, and other emergency situations.
In doing so, residents:
> Embody the principle that they are their own “first responder”
> Are prepared and empowered so they can properly respond in an emergency

Recovering From the Event – Once the dust settles what do you do next?
The Great California Shakeout! – An annual exercise to involve everyone in a practice earthquake event. The ShakeOut has also been organized to encourage you, your community, your school, or your organization to review and update emergency preparedness plans and supplies, and to secure your space in order to prevent damage and injuries
